Mapiks

Mapiks โ€” Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Effective from: the date you first use the Service

DRAFT โ€” NOT YET IN FORCE. No operating entity has been decided, so the
bracketed fields below are unfilled and the governing-law clause is unsettled.
These terms take effect only once an entity is named, a lawyer has reviewed
them, and they are published on the site. Until then the platform runs free,
nothing is sold, and nobody is being asked to agree to anything.

1. Who we are

Mapiks ("we", "us", "the Service") is an event discovery platform for events in

North Macedonia, operated by [OPERATING ENTITY], registered in

[JURISDICTION] under company number [COMPANY NUMBER], with its registered

office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS].

Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL]

2. What the Service does

Mapiks collects, organises, and displays information about public events in North

Macedonia โ€” concerts, parties, screenings, cultural programmes, and similar โ€” and

makes that information available on our website and through our applications.

Event information reaches us in several ways:

  • Submitted by a venue that holds an account with us.
  • Collected from public sources, including material a venue has published

publicly about its own events.

  • Entered by our staff from public announcements.

We also use automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to read event

posters and extract structured details such as dates, prices, and venue names.

3. Accuracy is not guaranteed

Event details on Mapiks may be wrong. Dates change, events are cancelled,

prices are misprinted, and automated extraction makes mistakes.

You must confirm details with the venue or organiser before travelling to an event,

paying money, or making any other commitment. We do not organise events, sell

tickets, or take reservations, and we are not a party to any arrangement between you

and a venue or organiser.

We provide event information "as is" and "as available", without warranty of

accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose.

4. Your account

You need an account to manage a venue or buy a promotion. When you register you

agree to:

  • give accurate registration information and keep it current;
  • keep your password confidential and not share your account;
  • tell us promptly at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you believe your account has been

accessed without your permission;

  • accept responsibility for everything done through your account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that is used

unlawfully, or that has been inactive for more than 24 months. Where we can, we

will tell you first and give you a chance to respond.

5. Venue accounts and the content you give us

This section applies if you hold a venue account.

5.1 You confirm you have the right

By submitting an event, a poster, a photograph, a logo, or any other material, you

confirm that:

  • you are authorised to act for the venue or organiser concerned;
  • you own the material or hold the rights needed to give us the licence in 5.2;
  • the material does not infringe anyone's copyright, trade mark, privacy, or other

rights;

  • the event is real, and the details are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

5.2 The licence you give us

You keep ownership of everything you submit. You grant us a **non-exclusive,

worldwide, royalty-free licence** to host, store, reproduce, resize, crop, translate,

and display that material for the purposes of operating and promoting the Service,

including in search results, social media posts, and email digests about your event.

This licence lasts while your content is on the Service and for a reasonable period

afterwards for backups and archived copies. It ends for active display when you

delete the content or close your account.

5.3 What you must not submit

You must not submit material that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory,

sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or illegal activity; that impersonates

another business; or that advertises an event you have no connection to.

6. Material collected from public sources

Where we display an event poster or description that we collected from a public

source rather than receiving from a venue account, we do so to inform the public

about a public event.

If you hold rights in material displayed on Mapiks and want it removed, email

[CONTACT EMAIL] with a link to the page, identification of the material, and a

statement that you hold the rights. We will remove it within 5 working days of

verifying the request, without requiring you to explain why. You do not need a

lawyer to make this request.

We will also remove or correct an event listing at the request of the venue it names.

7. Promotions and payment

This section applies when you buy a promotion โ€” a featured placement, a sponsored

listing, or a banner slot.

7.1 How a booking works

1. You request a promotion through your dashboard, choosing a type and a date range.

2. The price is calculated from our published rate card, per day, exclusive of Value

Added Tax.

3. We issue an invoice. **A requested promotion is not confirmed and does not run

until we have received payment.**

4. Once payment is confirmed, the promotion runs across the date range you selected.

7.2 Prices and tax

All prices are quoted in Macedonian denars (MKD).

Any Value Added Tax or equivalent is charged at the rate applicable to the supply

and shown separately on your invoice. The correct treatment depends on where the supplier is

established, where the supply is deemed to take place, and on your own status โ€”

your invoice will state the treatment applied. If you are a business customer

you may have obligations of your own in your country.

Unresolved, and cannot be resolved until an entity is chosen. Where the
supplier is established decides the tax treatment. A supplier in the same
country as the customer charges domestic Value Added Tax; a supplier abroad
selling business-to-business is usually outside the scope of its own domestic
tax, with the customer accounting for it instead. Settle the entity first, then
confirm the treatment with an accountant and amend this section and the
VAT_RATE_BPS setting together.

We may change the rate card at any time, but a change never affects a promotion

that is already paid for.

7.3 What you are buying

You are buying **placement for a period of time, not a guaranteed number of views,

clicks, or attendees.** Audience size varies with the season, the city, and the

event. We report impressions and clicks in your dashboard, and those figures are our

own measurements, provided in good faith and without warranty.

7.4 Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel a promotion from your dashboard at any time before it starts. If you

have already paid, we will refund you in full.

  • If you cancel after a promotion has started, we will refund the unused days on a

pro-rata basis, rounded to whole days.

  • If we fail to run a paid promotion for reasons within our control, we will refund

the affected days in full, or extend the promotion by agreement.

  • We do not refund a promotion for an event that you cancelled, rescheduled, or

misdescribed.

Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of the refund

being agreed.

7.5 We may refuse or withdraw a promotion

We may refuse to run, or withdraw, a promotion for an event that breaches section

5.3, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, or that would damage the reputation of

the Service. If we withdraw a promotion for any reason other than your breach, we

refund the unused days in full.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • access the Service by automated means โ€” scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading โ€”

without our written permission;

  • copy or redistribute substantial parts of our event database;
  • interfere with the Service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or probe its

security;

  • submit false analytics traffic, or artificially inflate impressions or clicks;
  • use the Service to send unsolicited commercial messages.

We offer an application programming interface for partners. If you want programmatic

access, ask us at [CONTACT EMAIL] rather than scraping the site.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service itself โ€” its software, design, database structure, name, and logo โ€”

belongs to us. These Terms give you no right to use our name or branding except to

refer factually to the Service.

10. Personal data

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part

of these Terms. In summary:

  • We collect account details from venue users, and basic usage analytics from all

visitors.

  • Analytics are recorded as daily aggregate counts per event and per venue. We do

not build profiles of individual visitors and we do not sell personal data.

  • We process personal data under the law applying to the operating entity once it

is chosen, and in any case to the standard of the **European Union General Data

Protection Regulation, which the Law on Personal Data Protection of the

Republic of North Macedonia** follows.

  • You have rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection. Exercise them at

[CONTACT EMAIL].

11. Availability

We try to keep the Service running but we do not promise uninterrupted availability.

We may suspend it for maintenance, and we may change or discontinue features. Where a

change materially reduces what a paid promotion delivers, section 7.5 applies.

12. Our liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including

liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that:

  • We are not liable for anything that happens at an event, for a venue's conduct, or

for an event being cancelled, rescheduled, or different from its listing.

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of

business, or loss of data.

  • **Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of

(a) the amount you paid us in that period, or (b) a fixed amount of

[LIABILITY CAP], to be set together with the operating entity and its currency.**

13. Indemnity

If you hold a venue account, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and

reasonable legal costs arising from material you submitted, from your breach of these

Terms, or from an event you listed.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give **at least 30 days'

notice** by email to account holders and by notice on the Service. If you do not

accept a change, you may close your account before it takes effect; we will refund

any promotion that has not yet run.

Changes never apply retroactively to a promotion already paid for.

15. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time. We may close it on 30 days' notice, or

immediately for a serious breach. On closure we stop displaying your submitted

content, refund any unrun promotion, and retain records we are legally required to

keep โ€” including invoices, for the statutory retention period.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and its courts have

exclusive jurisdiction โ€” except that we may bring proceedings to protect our

intellectual property in any competent court.

Nothing in this section removes any protection available to you under the mandatory

law of the country where you are established, and a business customer in North

Macedonia keeps whatever rights that law gives it regardless of this clause.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
